Overview of HandBrake

HandBrake was built in 2003 by 'titer'. By 2006 'titer' a major developer, until not long after that 'titre' is still active on the forums until then everything is lost contact with him. In May-June 2006, no one in the circle of HandBrake that can communicate with the titer and no code changes since HandBrake released officially.

Until August 2006, development continued on a heavy foundation HandBrake unofficial. "Banana" from HandBrake forum posted a message on "Extreme HandBrake," a release of HandBrake which is built with a platform that is not dikethui and Optimized.

Starting in September 2006, Rodney Hester and Chris Long are independently working to reverse-engineer or analyze system processes on computer equipment to iPod 2.1 Firmware format 640x480 H.264 and Apple's new together in the forums. When work is finished they both complement each other luckily it turned out, and then they joined together to become the software is still not stable yet released a compilation of HandBrake supports new formats including Apple atom uuid format.

Since then, considerable progress results in terms of stability, functionality and appearance. Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to examine changes to the Subversion repository for HandBrake m0k without authorization which only the titer, and all the teams did not get it.

As a follow up, Rodney Hester makes subversion repository mirror on the final version of 0.7.1 and Subversion tree from the official HandBrake site, and the team then start building on top of changes. Consent HandBrake site forum, created to support these efforts.

In January 2007 the 26th, known formally
HandBrake fork into MediaFork.

On February 13, 2007, the team finally got word from the titer, which fully supports the work of the team MediaFork and encouragement to continue. Plan to reintegrate HandBrake project was held under the banner, web services relocated to m0k.org, and on March 2, 2007 all server developers and users have returned to m0k.org. The next code released officially named HandBrake and going beyond that.

The installation and use is very easy, and a clear, light and fast. When run on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx I use.
